CH Devana Mister Big Time

CH Lanbur Walkin On Sunshine
My name is Kelly. I began my journey into the Dog Show World with a Great Pyrenees, Banner. Although Banner did obtain some placements at shows, we determined that he much preferred being home than in the show ring. He's a beautiful boy and thanks goes to Faye Ragland, Majesta Great Pyrenees for placing him with us. He still barks at butterflys and anything else he thinks we need protected from! He's a big, silly fluff-ball and we love him. We began conformation classes at the Mountaineer Kennel Club in Morgantown WV. Shortly after beginning those classes, Bill of Merry Music beagles gave my daughter Randi her first beagle, Benny from a litter he'd just had. Benny soon became an AKC Champion and was the beginning of a love for beagles. Randi also showed in Juniors with the AKC and has had a few nice placements and made a few friends along the way. AKC Junior Showmanship is of special interest to me and I've placed a few beagle kids with some great Junior families who've done well with them.
Bill quickly became a good friend and mentor in the breed. Much thanks goes to the time he spent educating us on dog shows and the breed in general. We assisted Bill a few times with his presentation on the breed for the Judge's institute and became members of the Mountaineer Kennel Club and I soon was an associate member of the National Beagle Club and Great Pyrenees Club of America.
I have to thank Jon Woodring and Wade Burns of Lanbur Beagles and Helen Daly of Sureluv Beagles for my first home-bred litter with my kennel name Devana. This litter was out of CH. Lanbur One Man Show and CH. Dreamsof Sureluv Family Affair. Out of a litter of 5 puppys, 4 completed their AKC Championships and one went to a wonderful pet home. Shortly after this litter, Bill asked us to use his kennel name Merry Music and litters produced thereafter we co-bred and used the Merry Music kennel name until this past year when we went separate ways. Quite a few beagles were produced by myself and Bill and completed their Championships under the kennel name Merry Music in conjunction with Bill over the past 5 or 6 years. Most people will associate me with "Merry Music", however origional and current kennel name is "Devana". Thanks again to Bill for all of his help, guidance and assistance over the years. But, as they say, "all good things must come to an end" and so now I embark on a new future with beagles on my own and further litters and Champions produced will bear the name "Devana".
